Arrival:
Your door unlock code is the last four digits of the phone number of the person who booked the rental for the exterior side door (east side) and front (ocean side) porch door. Please note that the parking side glass double doors are for the owner's use only.
Check-in time is at 5 PM. Please let us know the expected arrival time of the first person in your group so we can notify our cleaners.
To unlock the doors, press the Schlage logo and enter the four-digit code (last four digits of the booking person's phone number). To lock the doors, simply close them tightly and hold them against the frame, then press the Schlage logo. You can also turn the thumbturn on the inside to lock the doors.
WiFi:
Our rental comes with free WiFi for your convenience. The network name is "The Mizpah Collection."
The main TV in the rental is equipped with the DIRECT TV STREAM app, and you can also log in to your Apple TV or streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime. Each of the bedrooms has a Roku TV, which you can also use to log into your favorite streaming services. Additionally, you can use your phone as a remote.

Heating and Air:
The Cielo Wall thermostat for the upstairs heating and air conditioning is located in the hallway. Please keep the door at the bottom of the stairs closed when the AC is on. Please do not set the thermostat to below 72 degrees Fahrenheit, as this could cause the unit to freeze up due to high humidity levels. Please also avoid setting the refrigerator to the lowest setting. If the unit freezes, we will need to schedule a 24-hour thaw out period and a service call, which can incur an additional fee.
The downstairs bedrooms are equipped with mini-split units that you can control with the Cielo Wall Thermostat. Please keep the lower level French door closed at all times. Please note that all the 3 units downstairs must either be on heat or cool mode to work correctly.

Trash:
Trash pickup occurs at 8 AM on Mondays and Thursdays during the summer season, and only on Mondays in the offseason. Please bag and tie all trash and waste before placing it in the green trash can provided near the back of the house next to the street in front of the no parking sign on the fence. On the night before your departure or the morning of your departure, please move the trash can to the street next to the street in front of the no parking sign on the fence for pickup and make sure its facing the street so the trash tusk can use their machine to pick it up. (the bin also can’t be stacked behind the other as they wont pick it up)
Parking:
Please note that only the back yard is available for parking, and a maximum of five cars are allowed on the property at any time. The far-right (west) parking spot is reserved for the owner's/cleaners/maintenance use. Please do not idle in the parking lot, as our westerly neighbors have complained about the fumes drifting onto their deck on the rare occasion they use it.
Hot Tub:
No glass containers or food allowed in the hot tub.
Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Do not use the hot tub if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Shower before using the hot tub to remove sand, lotions, oils, and dirt.
Do not add any chemicals or soaps to the hot tub.
Do not adjust the hot tub temperature without permission.
Keep the hot tub cover on and the sides clipped in place when not in use to prevent debris from falling in and wind damage caused to tub and property.
Do not exceed the maximum occupancy limit of 5 in the hot tub.
Please keep the floater in the hot tub in the same area it is when you arrived.
Kitchen:
The kitchen is equipped with common use kitchen supplies that guests can use as they please. However, guests are expected to clean all dishes, silverware, and other utensils and return them to their place. There is a Keurig coffee maker as well as a regular coffee pot.
Linens:
All linens are provided in the upstairs bathroom and/or bedrooms.
Church Recommendation:
Life Church is recommended for guests who want to attend church services. They hold services on Saturdays at 6 pm in Atlantic Beach and Sundays at 10 am in Newport.
Restaurant Recommendation:
For seafood lovers, Morehead offers great options such as Redfish, Floyd’s (Southern), Yellowfin, and Italian restaurants like Casa San Carlo and Taste of Napoli. Brunch options include Banks Grill, Cox, and Mike’s. Other recommended restaurants include El’s Drive-In and Friendly Market, which is a local grocery store with pre-made dishes.
In Atlantic Beach, seafood lovers can try Amos Mosquito, Table 9 Seafood, Island Grill, Full Moon Oyster Bar, or Shark Shack. For Mexican cuisine, Nacho's is a good choice, and Venice offers delicious Italian food. For breakfast, 4 Corners is a popular option. Guests looking for a unique dining experience can try Monkey Bar, a dive bar that serves great food and offers reasonable pricing.
In Beaufort, guests can enjoy great restaurants such as Beaufort Grocery for brunch, lunch, or dinner, Aqua, or City Kitchen.
Emerald Isle also offers a few good dining options. Guy Fieri showcased Amos Mosquito, Sanitary (average), El’s, and a BBQ Joint in Emerald Isle on his show.
Local Entertainment:
Guests can enjoy various activities such as visiting the NC Aquarium, horseback riding on the beach in Cedar Island, watching a movie, playing laser tag or axe throwing, playing darts or pool and eating at BT’s, visiting a brewery, playing mini golf, or renting a boat, bike or jet ski.
Beach:
To access the beach, go to the left two houses from the front deck and use the beach access across the street. Please use the outdoor shower or hose to rinse off sand before using the hot tub or going inside. We also have a foot washing hose at the top of the first-level steps and at the side door.
Please only flush the provided septic-safe toilet paper as we are on a septic tank. Flushing anything else can stop the entire system.
Roof and Loud Music:
Getting on the roof or playing loud music that disturbs the neighbors can result in a fine and eviction. Mostly owner-occupant families live on the block to the west, and they are quick to complain. Quiet hours are after 9 pm.
Smoking:
Smoking is not allowed inside, and cigarette butts may not be disposed of on the ground outside.
Back Lower Level Space (Sound side downstairs):
The property owner's space and cleaner’s/maintenance storage space is behind the short fence with the two double glass doors.
Grilling:
Grilling must be at least 5 feet away from the deck or any house structure.
Other Notes:
Please be careful with the downstairs private bathroom sliding door to avoid it falling off the tracks.
Please don’t leave doors open for an extended time period (especially with AC running) as the ocean air causes things to rust quickly. Also, the windows are a little older so they are sometimes difficult to get back closed fully without leaving gaps.
Also, we’ve had a couple groups that over filled the refrigerator covering the vents in the back causing it to not cool properly, so please keep that in mind. if you get a lot of groceries
Pest Control:
We spray for bugs quarterly, but being at the beach makes it almost impossible to get rid of all the bugs including the water bugs that look like cockroaches. If any bug issues arise during your stay, please call rid-a-pest at 252-243-3532 and give them the address and the best time for them to come with your schedule as we have a yearly contract with them and they can spot spray for any problem areas.
Laundry:
There is a brand new stack installed in 2023 downstairs, and the cleaners are instructed to leave several pods.
Departure:
Check out is at 10 am, and unapproved late departure can result in a fine.
Please place used towels in a pile downstairs next to the laundry room (no bed linens removed please as the cleaners will remove them so they can keep them organized)
Return any moved furniture to its original place. If any furry friends joined you, please clean up after them .
Fill and start the dishwasher with any used dishes when you leave.
Please bag all trash and waste and carry it to the green trash can provided near the back of the house and place it facing the street (they will only pick up with it facing the street with their machine).
