⏰ Arrival & Access

Check-In: 5:00 PM
Door Code: Last four digits of the phone number used to book

Unlocking the Door:

  • Press the Schlage logo on the keypad

  • Enter your 4-digit code

Locking the Door:

  • Inside: Turn the thumb turn

  • Outside: Close the door firmly and press the Schlage logo

🅿️ Parking & Early Access

  • Max 5 vehicles allowed (backyard parking only)

  • Please don’t idle in the lot long—neighbors behind the house may be affected

  • Early Parking Allowed: You may park early and use the outdoor shower

    Note: Cleaners typically need 3 parking spots, so please be mindful.

🌡️ Air Conditioning & Heating

3rd Floor:

  • Controlled by a Cielo touchscreen in the large bedroom

  • ❗ Do not set A/C below 72°F—doing so may cause the system to freeze

1st & 2nd Floors:

  • Controlled by Cielo wall thermostats

  • ❗ Make sure both mini-split heads on each side of the house are set to the same mode (heat or A/C)

🗑️ Trash & Recycling

Pickup Days:

  • Summer: Mondays & Thursdays

  • Off-Season: Mondays only

Instructions:

  • Bag and seal all trash

  • Place in the green bin by the back of the house

  • On Wednesday night or departure morning, move bin to the street, facing forward (machine pickup requires proper orientation)

🌊 Hot Tub & Pool Guidelines

Midweek Service:
For stays of 4+ nights, pool/hot tub is typically serviced on Wednesdays (11 AM–1 PM) per health department protocol of one service per week.

Rules:

  • No food or glass

  • Adult supervision for children

  • Do not use under the influence

  • Shower before use

  • No soaps or chemicals

  • Do not adjust the temperature

  • Leave covers clipped when not in use

  • Feel free to leave covers open a few hours daily if sunny—sunlight helps sanitizer effectiveness and keep water clear

  • Max Occupancy: 5 in hot tub, 8 in pool

  • Return floaters to original locations

🍳 Kitchen & Cooking

  • Fully stocked with cookware, silverware, and utensils

  • Coffee options: Keurig and drip machine

  • Please wash and return items to their proper places

🛏️ Linens

  • Provided in upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms

  • 🧺 Check-Out: Place used towels near the laundry room downstairs

    Please do not strip beds—our cleaners handle this

🏖️ Beach Access & Rinse-Off Areas

  • Main ramp: One house east

  • Oceanfront access: Direct from the house (be careful of briars—wear shoes)

Rinse Stations:

  • Outdoor shower (by back door, 1st level)

  • Main deck shower (oceanside)

  • Foot rinse (parking bottom platform)

🚫 Do not take beach cart with bouncy rubber tires through the dunes—briars may puncture them

🚽 Septic System Advisory

  • Only use provided septic-safe toilet paper

  • Do not flush wipes, hygiene products, or anything else

🛠️ House Notes

  • Recent bathroom renovations—please avoid getting out of shower soaking which may cause water dripping from 3rd floor to 2nd

  • 1st floor is a separate unit from the 2nd and 3rd

  • Keep doors closed to protect A/C and prevent rust

  • Avoid overloading the fridge or blocking rear vents

🚫 House Rules

  • Roof Access: Prohibited—fine & eviction

  • Noise: Quiet hours after 9 PM

  • Smoking: Prohibited indoors. No cigarette butts on property

  • Grilling: Keep at least 5 feet from structures

  • Fire Pit: Monitor at all times—winds + dry weather + dunes = serious fire risk (it’s happened!)

🐜 Pest Control

  • Property sprayed quarterly and monthly during high season

  • Water bugs (pest control says they are extremely clean bugs) may appear in older homes like ours so close to the water and so many natural dunes, especially in humid, hot and/or rainy conditions

  • If needed:

    • Call Rid-A-Pest: 252-243-3532 (mention address)

    • Or message us with your preferred time for service coordination

🕙 Check-Out: 10:00 AM sharp

Unapproved late check-out will incur a fee

Before You Leave:

  • Place towels near laundry room

  • Leave beds made

  • Return furniture to original positions

  • Clean up after pets

  • Load and run dishwasher

  • Place trash in green bin and move to street, facing forward (not stacked behind each other)

  • Hot tub/pool misuse

  • Food/items left in refrigerator

  • Excessive cleaning needed

  • Misuse of HVAC

  • Unauthorized late check-out

  • Damaged or moved furniture
